Communities of Interest

The set of relationships existing between organisms and the air, water, minerals, and all other external factors surrounding and affecting those organisms.

The science of the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services, or the material welfare of humankind. Economic activity should serve the common good, be self-renewing, and build local assets and self-reliance. 

Relating to human society and to the life, welfare, and relations of human beings in a community. Social Equity includes the quality of being fair, just and impartial , and the opportunity for full participation in all activities, benefits, and decision-making of a society. 

Exercising or seeking power in governmental or public affairs.    

Only a community-based process can overcome the political barriers to change.  Citizen-led processes must complement top-down government support.

Culture regards the development of the mind by education or training.  It often manifests as the behaviors, beliefs and the arts that are characteristic of particular groups, and is the result  of ways of living built up and transmitted over time.
